The Elsies River Rugdy and Football Club was in studio talking to us about their team, challenges they face and what they want for their future. Coach Morne Moses says that that his team has not lost any games yet. He says that where he trains the girls has not been invested in. What motivated the girls was when they conceded tries behind their own poles and felt it for the first time. That motivated them to do better in every game.
Morne Moses: "If you must only know what these girls go through,. We don't have lights. We don't practice with proper lights; we are using Chinese lights, a generator, and a piece of a field. There aren't any proper restroom facilities at Elsies River Park. Vandalism is also a major concern."
A movie was made biographing the life of the group Milli Vanilli. The film is called “Girl, you know it`s true”. The movie was made in Cape Town and Simon Verhoeven is the director and producer. It is the story of Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan. The two struggled to make waves in Europe’s pop culture, but Frank Farian hired them to be the faces of his new music project in 1988.
Their debut single, “Girl, You Know It’s True,” became number one and sold millions. They also won a Grammy Award in 1990. It is reported that Cape Town's diverse and vibrant scenery plays a crucial role in the film, adding authenticity and depth to the storytelling.
