Bellville South Community Day Centre (CDC) has made space for an official youth and adolescent-friendly clinic. Sister Caty May spoke to the Daily Voice and says that their goal is to create an environment where young people can feel heard, respected, and empowered to prioritize their health. She emphasizes that they want to help you access the healthcare that you need.
They encourage all youth to spread the word about our new clinic and to please share feedback with us on how they want to receive care. Your feedback matters to us because your health matters to us. The new clinic opened on April 18, 2024. They are outside of the main clinic, allowing the youth to access healthcare easily and safely. Attendees at the special event included students from Bellville South High School, Goeie Hoop Primary School, Kasselsvlei High School, and Bellville South Primary School.
One youth said that this will also be an opportunity for them to be open if they are sexually active because sometimes their parents don't understand them and there are always a lot of people at the clinic who would judge them or maybe inform their parents that they were at the clinic.
They report that:
- The number of employed persons decreased by 22,000 to 16.7 million in Q4 2023 compared to the previous quarter.
- The number of unemployed persons increased by 46,000 to 7.9 million during the same quarter.
Industries such as community and social services, construction, agriculture, trade, and manufacturing contributed to the net employment decline. The report states that finance, transport, mining, and private households recorded the largest employment gains.
