Mark Wayne, born on October 4, 1972, in Ravensmead, Cape Town, grew up in Worcester in the Breede Valley, South Africa. A qualified teacher, he began his career in education in 1994, teaching for nine years across the Breede Valley and Cape Peninsula. In 2003, he decided to follow a new path, auditioning for ShowBuzz, run by Giempie Vardien and Lameez Bester. Through them, he joined the Spanish company Romantic Corporate, performing Motown tribute shows across Spain. More than two decades later, Mark continues to work with Romantic Corporate while focusing on his own solo shows, now based in Catalunya, Spain. His performances have evolved from a Seal tribute into a versatile blend of swing, soul, and pop music, taking him across Spain, the Canary Islands, and Scandinavian cruise liners. In 2019, Mark’s talent reached a wider audience when he competed in La Voz (The Voice Spain), advancing to the second live show. His discography now includes 11 original songs, with several gaining airplay across South African radio stations as well as other parts of the world. Early highlights include “Dark Knight” and “You,” produced by his former student Charlton Breimasjien Davids, both of which are set for upcoming remixed releases. Since 2020, Mark has released nine more singles, many written and produced in collaboration with Ebrahim Mallum, including No Broken Hearts, Unforgettable, What’s Going Down, Fallen, Just Hit Replay, Moment In Time, and So You Know. He also expanded his artistry into Spanish-language music with Siente El Boom, created with producer Nelly a producer in Spain, and has another Spanish collaboration with Nelly on the way. His latest single, This Minute (2025), written and produced by Ebrahim Mallum, marks his newest release and a continuation of his ever-evolving sound.
