Anisa Moosa is a professional social worker and the National Coordinator for the National Shelter Movement of South Africa (NSMSA). She began this role on April 2, 2024. In this position, she manages gender-based violence (GBV) programs, provides technical leadership, and offers supervision and support to helpline staff. She is also involved in proposal development and internal and external representation and coordination. Her professional experience includes work with gender-based violence, addiction, and counseling for children and teens. She is known for her skills in coordination, media engagement, and training.
Previously, Anisa Moosa has also been identified as a chief social worker at Islamic Care-Line and has been a missionary with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) for 30 years, serving primarily in Portuguese-speaking Southern Africa. With YWAM, she and her husband, Renildo Soares, are developing a member care center in Brazil. In her missionary work, she focuses on teaching, training, coaching, and mentoring. She has also completed a Master's dissertation on "Burnout in Zambian Women in Ministry and Humanitarian Work."
