The ANC takes the elections again by receiving the most seats in the 2024 National and Provincial Elections.
- ANC 159 National Assembly seats: 86 regional and 73 national
- The DA secured 87 seats—45 regional and 42 national seats
- uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK), led by former president Jacob Zuma, secured 58 seats
- EFF: 39 seats
According to reports, the voter turnout was 58.61%, over 7% less than the 66% in 2019. The chairperson of the Electoral Commission of South Africa, Mosotho Moepya, declared the results of the elections as free and fair during the official results announcement in Midrand last night.
There will be a decrease in petrol prices. Petrol prices are likely to come down by around R1.06 per liter. Diesel is set to decrease by between 90 cents and R1, respectfully. These decreases come mainly as a result of lower international oil prices.

President Cyril Ramaphosa signed into law the National Council on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide Bill and the National Prosecuting Authority Amendment Bill. Ramaphosa says the bill would provide leadership in the fight against GBV. These two laws aim to ensure that women and children are safe and that corruption is eradicated.
Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele says every man should take a stand against gender-based violence (GBV). Cele says police officers should treat cases of gender-based violence with urgency.
