Post Office Sassa payouts are under fire. Post offices are situated inside every South African Post Office. People from the age of 60 receive R2,180 a month, while people from the age of 75 receive R2,200. IOL spoke to a number of people who say that a lack of funds seem to be a major concern.

Sassa told a pensioner from Rondebosch that Post Bank is using their money; they are using their balances for Post Bank’s debt because they are in debt. Spokesperson for Sassa, Shivani Wahab, says that unauthorised deductions from social grants have been a long-standing issue. Spokesperson for the Post Office, Louise Brugman, says that you need to contact the ethics line on 0800 020 070.

Once they have properly documented complaints, an investigator will be assigned who will conduct a full investigation and report back to the head of forensics with a final investigation report
